My Great Grandparents are buried in this cemetery. I visited for the first time yesterday. It is in the middle of a cow pasture and the woods and bushes have taken over. There has to be at least 100 people buried in this cemetery, maybe more. I was told some are men whose tug boat went down in the Arkansas River. You can tell that at one time it was a beautiful cemetery. Beautiful flowers everywhere and pretty wrought iron fence around some of the graves. There are a lot of graves only marked by a stone. Is there anything that can be done about preserving the cemetery? Are there any organizations that can help? It just seems so sad.
